Blaze Barber Academy was founded in 2023, by Coffee County native, Kent Paulk. For Kent, a journey that began nearly 30 years ago has finally reached its pinnacle. Kent graduated from Coffee High School in 1996. While he was at CHS, he began cutting hair. After high school Kent enrolled in then-East Central Technical College (now Wiregrass Georgia Technical College) and received a master cosmetologist degree. He worked under an apprenticeship model for three years before opening Nu Me Barber Shop. Shortly after, in 2017, Kent joined the Department of Juvenile Justice as a barber instructor at the Youth detention Center in Eastman. Kent enjoyed investing in the youth and being able to teach them a trade that could open doors for them. As the years went on, his desire to provide those same opportunities for members of his community grew stronger. His vision was a barbering school in Douglas & Coffee County. Years later, Blaze Barber Academy was birthed.
Our mission is to provide high-quality training that blends practical skills with theoretical knowledge, empowering students to excel in the fast-growing beauty and grooming industry. Our academy is home to experienced professionals who are not only masters of barbering techniques but are also passionate about teaching. We believe in fostering a nurturing environment where every student can thrive and achieve their full potential.
