In order to become a licensed barber instructor, a student must complete at least 1 year and 750 total hours of training as follows: 

• General Education - (250 hours)

  • Cosmetology & Barber Laws, rules, & regulations​

  • Principles of Teaching Barbering

• Teaching techniques & audio-visual aids - (250 hours) 

  • Curriculum development​

  • Lesson Plans & presentations

  • Classroom management & discipline

  • Demonstrations & lectures

  • Various methods of evaluation

• Practice teaching - (250 hours)
